Cubs meet on Wednesday evenings in the Scout HQ, 6.30pm to 8pm. The Pack is open to boys and girls, from age 8 to 10 and a half or 11 years. The Pack is currently (November 2005) full and a waiting list is being operated. Please contact the Leader for an application form for the waiting list.
The object of the Pack is have fun, but to learn new skills at the same time. A camp is arranged every year plus weekend visits to Youth Hostels in the winter. The Pack takes part in the activities organised in the Daventry Scout District - football, quiz, unihoc, swimming (at which Byfield is once

Scouts

The aim of the Scout association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

The method of achieving the aim of the Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership.

The Troop has taken part in many activities including night hikes, camping, amateur radio, fire safety, first aid, archery, shooting, climbing, abseilling, a trip to cadbury world and many more some of these have been organised and run by the Scouts themselves.

We are backed up by District and County teams who can provide specialist skills not available to individual Troops. The teams also provide training for leaders and Scouts for activities such as canoeing, climbing, mountain activities, archery, first aid and others. Many of these training opportunities involve reaching nationally recognised standards.

If you want to do an activity we will find someone to help you do it.

The 1st Byfield Scout Troop welcomes all young people who wish to take part in Scouting. You can become one of the twenty six million people worldwide who enjoy being part of the worldwide family of Scouting.

If any adults wish to help us provide the Scouting this village deserves please contact us at the address below. Scouting needs young people, it also really needs good adults.
